Profile

Hey everyone!

I created [Ursprung](https://ursprung.fyi) out of frustration when I bought an **Alessi David Chipperfield moka pot** claiming to support Italian heritage and manufacturing, only to find out it was produced in China (as many of them in specific ranges now are).

I know that many websites & extensions have been created to support going European, but this website aims to bridge the product-level gap that exists in many brands, where some products are still made in the EU and others simply make a small fraction of them in EU, or are phasing out such production entirely. I feel this should be seen as a complement to others such as [BuyEuropean](https://www.buyeuropean.io/) and [GoEuropean](https://www.goeuropean.org/) with a slightly different focus on product lines. The goal is to crowdsource a catalogue that transparently presents product origins rather than simply believing

Ursprung is positioned in community / reddit / buyfromeu, a segment that rewards a clear, focused offering.

The company is recorded as being based in Europe.
