Hey all, we’ve been working on a new consumer financial account called Pool. It’s designed to be ephemeral and used for a specific purpose.Checking accounts have turned into a junk drawer: money flies in and out and we hope for the best. That works well enough, but at some point there's money that needs to be shared or tracked for an ongoing, dedicated purpose. Shared use cases (think house funds, nanny cards, classrooms, side projects, Discord servers, and more) are especially painful. Checking accounts, spreadsheets, P2P apps, and tracking apps fall short. We wanted something more like a silverware drawer.
