KARANA is scaling jackfruit as the first regeneratively grown commodity crop to support biodiversity and solve the most pressing issues facing our food system. We are focused on regenerative agriculture and utilising sustainable crops combined with technology to power a transformation in our food systems. Jackfruit is extremely high yielding, nutritious, mitigates climate risk, ensures food security, and supports biodiversity. Despite this over 60% of JF goes to waste because there hasn't existed end-to-end infrastructure to efficiently aggregate, process, and create innovative products to bring jackfruit to market on a global scale and this is exactly what KARANA has solved.

In doing this KARANA is driving a transformation from monoculture industrial farming that is destroying our soil and threatening ecosystems, to a more regenerative model to restore balance in our food system and ensure food security.

As a first use case KARANA leverages the versatility of jackfruit, to pioneer a new category in meatless. The KARANA product range is built around our ground jackfruit meat, sold B2B. It is highly versatile and can be made into a range of products. Value added products already developed include dim sum, patties, crumbles, and meatballs.
