I made a website for searching police scanner transcripts is a business in show hn launch.

Profile

Hey everyone,copcrawler.com is a website that lets you search through transcribed police scanner audio from broadcastify.com. I'm currently using faster-whisper with the tiny.en model to transcribe audio from about 14 departments on some old laptops. The transcript quality is relatively low however it's good enough to find common police scanner keywords like 'shots fired' or 'burglary'. I've also implemented RAG for a of couple departments which you can try out with the chat bot mode.

The company sits in the show hn launch segment, where it competes on its core product or service.

The company is listed at the Show HN launch stage of development.
