Inspired by hn-recommend, I spent the last couple of days making a "deep" course search at my university. It largely uses the same things, but I ended up implementing a "retrieve-rerank" system with encoders optimized for asymmetric search from Sentence-BERT. I think the results are somewhat interesting, and shoutout the author of hn-recommend again for the inspiration!
