DEEPCYCLE ECO PTE. LTD.

Clean Technology for Closed-Loop PET Recycling

DEEPCYCLE ECO PTE. LTD. is a company in cleantech, manufacturing & engineering based in Singapore, founded in 2025.

Profile

Background:
Plastic pollution is a global crisis, contaminating our oceans, rivers, and land. At the same time, the plastics industry has become one of the fastest-growing sources of industrial greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, driven by rising global demand and fossil-fuel–based production. It already accounts for approximately 4% of global GHG emissions, and according to the UN Environment Programme, this figure could rise to as much as 19% by 2040 if current trends continue. In response, the United Nations is actively promoting a circular economy as a strategy to eliminate plastic pollution.

Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) is the first widely recyclable plastic and is extensively used in packaging and textiles. However, existing PET recycling technologies face major limitations, including low efficiency, complex processing, high raw-material costs, and the need for extensive pretreatment—such as converting crystalline PET into an amorphous form—all of which significantly increase overall costs.
